5. PACKAGING
5.1 Packaging. For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements
shall be as specified in the contract or purchase order (see 6.2.k). When
actual packaging of materials is to be performed by DoD personnel, these
personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity to ascertain
requisite packaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by
the Inventory Control Point's packaging activity within the Military
Department of Defense Agency, or within the Military Department's System
Command. Packaging data retrieval is available from the managing Military
Department's or Defense Agency's automated packaging files, CD-ROM products,
or by contacting the responsible packaging activity.

NOTES

6.1 Intended use. The AN/PVS-4 is intended for use at night for aimed
firing of individual served weapons.
6.2 Acquisition requirements.
Acquisition documents must specify the
following:

the quantities involved:

(2) To obtain the sight without Image Intensifier Tube,
specify the use of drawing SM-D-850100-2

Statement specifying that FAT testing is, or is not, required and
sampling requirements for FAT.
e.
Necessary actions by the contractor in the event of a lot test
failure.
f.
Statement identifying that the contractor must submit his
proposal for conformance inspection to include the
specific requirements to be verified and the sampling plan to be
used to provide the desired confidence level.
g.
Quantity and schedule for FAT testing for all line items and
disposition of FAT samples.
