3.14 Definitions.
3.14.1 Damage. Breakage, loosening, shifting, evidence of corrosion, failure of

4. VERIFICATION
4.1 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are
classified as follows:
a. First article inspection (see 4.2).
b. Conformance inspection (see 4.3).
4.2 First article inspection. First article inspection shall be performed on one or more
complete Scanners when a first article sample is required (see 3.1). This inspection shall include
the inspection of 4.2.1 and the tests of 4.2.2.
4.2.1 Inspections. All mechanical scanners shall be examined for conformance to the
applicable specification or drawing. Inspections shall be made using Table I and sampling
procedures per ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 and sample size per ASTM E122-89 and as directed by the
contract or purchase order.
