3.4.1 Dimensions. The test set shall meet the dimensions and dimensional tolerances of
drawing 5003414 to ensure proper physical interface with existing hardware.
3.5 Performance characteristics.
3.5.1 ANVIS connections. The Test Set shall provide a mounting block and two electrical
connections for the power pack. A simulated aircraft power connector shall mate to the power
pack input connector and provide voltage to the power pack. This voltage shall simulate the
power supplied by the power converter for ANVIS, which is mounted in the aircraft. The other
electrical connections shall simulate the ANVIS load to monitor power pack current and voltage
output. It also shall monitor the low battery indicator output.
3.5.2 Objective lenses interface. Each Test Set test port shall interface with the objective
lenses listed in Table I. All objective lens interfaces shall be sufficiently light-tight to permit
proper testing of the ANVIS or NVG in a darkened environment.

3.5.3 Collimation attachment. The collimation attachment shall permit viewing through
one monocular at a time or both simultaneously. When viewing both monoculars simultaneously,
the two separate images shall be combined into one overlapped scene. To ensure proper image
overlap, the collimation attachment shall have the two inputs collimated within 3 minutes or less
in the vertical direction and 6 minutes or less in the horizontal direction. The horizontal direction
is the axis connecting the two inputs to the collimation attachment (see 3.5.13).
3.5.4 Zero diopter scope. A low power telescope as described herein shall be easily
attachable and detachable from the collimation attachment.
3.5.4.1 Diopter scope magnification. The diopter scope shall have a magnification of
5 X ± 1 X.
3.5.4.2 Diopter scope focus. The diopter scope focus shall be infinity, ± 0.4 diopter.
3.5.4.3 Diopter scope entrance aperture. The entrance aperture of the diopter scope shall
be a minimum of 20mm.
