MIL-PRF-49167B(CR)
3.5.5 IR polarity control outputs. IR polarity control outputs shall be +0.60, ±0.25 Vdc
and shall be inverted with respect to each other.
3.5.6 Polarity transient suppression. Polarity transient suppression shall provide a gated
level of +1.0, ±0.1 Vdc on the IR level and gate waveform for a duration of 140, ±40 milliseconds
at each operation of polarity reversal.
3.5.7 Scan failure protect. The scan failure protect feature shall provide a continuous
gated level of +1.0, ±0.1 vdc on the IR level and gate waveform when a gate signal is not received
for a duration of greater than 120, ±40 milliseconds.
3.6 Environmental conditions.
3.6.1 Temperature shock. The auxiliary control module shall not be damaged (see 6.3.1)
by sudden changes in temperature between -54°C and +95°C.
3.6.2 High temperature. The auxiliary control module shall not be damaged by storage
to +95°C or continuous operation to +71°C, and shall operate for 30 minutes at +95°C.
3.6.3 Low temperature. The auxiliary control module shall not be damaged by operation
to -54°C or storage to -62°C.
3.6.4 Shock. The auxiliary control module shall not be damaged by high intensity shocks
of 100g's peak amplitude with 11 milliseconds duration and by bench handling tests.
3.6.5 Vibration. The auxiliary control module shall not be damaged by vibration over the
frequency spectrum at the specified g levels and amplitudes shown in figure 2.
3.7 Reliability. The auxiliary control module shall have a mean time between failure
(MTBF) of at least 17,500 hours θ0.
3.8 Coating. Unless otherwise specified, the auxiliary control module and its components
and parts shall be cleaned and coated in accordance with the contractor's established procedures.
3.9 Preconditioning. Each auxiliary control module shall be subjected to at least a 20-
cycle preconditioning environment as specified in figure 3 prior to group A inspection. (For
exception to this requirement see 6.2.h.
3.10 Marking. Mark directly or by label to include nomenclature, contract number, serial
number, date, manufacturing code, part number, and national stock number. Use clear and legible
lettering and a method of marking to withstand the operatng environment. MIL-M-13231 may be
used as a guide.
