4.2.3 IPI testing. Test samples shall be selected from IALs which have
passed the requirements of Table II and shall meet the requirements of Table
III. Sample size shall be 6 IALs for subgroup 1, 6 IALs for subgroup 2, and 3
IALs for subgroup 3. The first 12 tests may be performed in any order and
must be performed first. In subgroup 3 one unit shall be tested for EMI and
sand and dust; one unit for explosive atmosphere and salt fog; and one unit
for fungus. Failure of any test shall constitute an initial production
inspection (IPI) failure. Each sample shall be identified as to its
applicable subgroup prior to the start of testing. Unless otherwise
specified, the IALs shall be operated at a temperature of 23oC + 10 Co (see
3.15.2).
4.3
Quality conformance inspection.
4.3.1 Inspection. All production IALs shall be subjected to the
requirements of Table II. Unless otherwise specified, the IALs shall be
operated at a temperature of 23oC + 10 Co (see 3.15.2).
4.3.2
Group inspection.
4.3.2.1 Group A inspection. IALs that have passed the examination
specified in 4.3.1 shall be tested in accordance with Table IV. Failure of
any test shall be cause for rejection of that unit. IALs which pass Group A
inspection shall be formed into lots. Lot size shall be determined by the
contractor. Group A tests may be performed in any order.
